DRIVING DIRECTIONS

To drive to Kingston Ranch from Las Vegas, proceed south on I-15 toward Los Angeles. About 15 miles south of Las Vegas is Jean, where the Gold Strike Casino is located. Turn west on Highway 161 and drive six miles until reaching the left turn toward Sandy Valley. Stay on the Sandy Valley Road, which will go over the mountains and eventually turn south and change to Kingston Road. The Kingston Ranch entry way is 2.5 miles south of the California/Nevada border.

If driving from California, you can take the short cut. Take the Cima exit, which is Exit No. 272. Proceed west for approximately 12 miles and then turn right on Kingston Road. Although this will take you over about 12 miles of gravel road, it is easily passable with standard automobiles. A half mile after the pavement begins, you will reach the entry way to Kingston Ranch. You can also take the freeway all the way to Jean and stay on paved roads all the way, but this will add about 45 minutes to your trip.

If you search maps on your computer or on a mobile device, here are some guidelines:

In Google Maps: search for 2500 Kingston Rd, Jean, CA 89019

FLYING DIRECTIONS

Print the Chart

Kingston Ranch is located in Sandy Valley, 30.7 miles SW of Las Vegas on the 216.5° radial. It can be located on the Las Vegas Sectional Chart. The identifier is 04NV, although some databases do not have this private airport. In that event, input Sky Ranch (“3L2”) into your GPS as your destination, which is located two miles north of Kingston Ranch. We are outside of the Las Vegas Class Bravo airspace.

We share the CTAF frequency of 123.0 with Sky Ranch. Please announce your location and intentions when entering and leaving Sandy Valley.

The Kingston Ranch runway is 3,440′ x 45′. The runway “numbers” are 2 (marked with a “R”) and 20 (marked with an “X”). The “X” was necessary because there is a telephone pole approximately 80′ to the west of “the numbers” of runway 20. (There is also a telephone pole to the east, but rest assured that the power lines in the flight path have been buried underground.) Lights can be activated by keying the mic five times. A windsock is located midfield, just north of the hangars.

If you “buzz” Kingston Ranch upon your arrival, we will contact you on the radio before your landing.
